Basic Purpose

To supervise the design, facilitation, and organizational communication activities of training teams to achieve branch objectives. To organize, plan, schedule enhance the day to day operation of the training branch in support of division objectives. Direct and coordinate implementation and training of learner centric curriculum. Oversee the development of learner resources to support company strategic goals. Initiate process/procedural recommendations and lead complex projects to improve overall departmental efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Manage and plan training resources, programs and systems to develop, design, implement and deliver learning solutions to support business unit and company objectives 
• Identify, recommend, implement and adjust current and new training techniques, technologies, programs, etc. to enhance effectiveness and efficiency
• Analyze training needs to develop new training programs, including computer based training, or modify and improve existing programs to support the organization's learning needs 
• Monitor and ensure completion of daily training administrative work such as tracking of participant data, course management, resource allocation, status reporting, and other administrative tasks as required in a timely and accurate manner
• Contribute to the development of training strategies, tactics and learning solutions that support companywide and business unit objectives, while considering stakeholder needs and industry standards
• Supervise needs assessments to support organization learning needs
• Evaluate instructor performance and the effectiveness of training programs, provide recommendations for improvement
• Conduct or arrange for ongoing technical training and personal development classes for direct reports
• Plan, develop, and provide training and development programs for business units, using knowledge of the effectiveness of methods such as classroom training, demonstrations, on- the job training, meetings, conferences, and workshops
• Ensure effective management of projects from inception through implementation and in accordance with customers' expectations, timelines & budget constraints 
• Partner with other business units and vendors to improve procedures, resolve problems, and implement initiatives; presents conclusions and recommendations to 
• Participate in cross-departmental project teams to enhance and develop training products/services and plan/implement change management solutions
• Serve as point of contact for responding to, and resolving, escalated inquiries from staff and management
• Contribute to a culture of collaboration by actively working across business lines, communicating knowledge and internal processes to other business units
• Act as Assistant Manager/ Manager in the incumbent's absence
• Ensure training is in full compliance with all applicable statutory requirements and Navy Federal policies, procedures, rules, regulations and values 
• Train, supervise, and support staff with Technical Writing methodologies for continuous improvement in documentation; ensuring clear, concise and effective communication of material and content
• Supervise Documentation Specialists in sourcing data, drafting, proofing and reviewing documents, and tracking assigned projects Identify, coordinate and implement Organizational Communication and Messaging strategies to meet business needs
• Stay abreast of emerging industry trends and recommend changes to enhance organizational strategies to include web design, content development, and other process improvement initiatives
• Communicate and present to department leadership on strategic initiatives
• Oversee and provide guidance on the planning and management of instructional design projects and initiatives within the business unit and/or across the organization 
• Provide support to aid in the development of instructional courses tailored to meet the desired learning outcomes and needs of Navy Federal and the learners 
• Implement strategies for educating and training employees to achieve higher levels of performance, utilizing a variety of techniques to define and sequence instructional content and strategies
• Perform supervisory/managerial responsibilities
 - Ensure adequate/skilled staffing; select employees
 - Establish performance goals and priorities
 - Prepare, conduct and review performance appraisals
 - Develop, mentor and counsel staff
 - Provide input and/or prepare budget requirements for Annual Financial Plan (AFP)
 - Ensure section/branch goals and objectives align with division/department strategy
 - Ensure efficiency of operations
 - Leadership Level

• Desired - Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Desired - Familiarity with banking/financial industry trends, products and services
• Desired - Familiarity with Navy Federal products, services, programs, policies and procedures
• Desired - Familiarity with Navy Federal's functions, philosophy, operations and organizational objectives
• Desired - Experience in writing course content and/or developing on-line courses, graphic designs and other technology driven products
• Desired - Experience in classroom instruction and/or facilitation for individuals or groups
• Desired - Effective knowledge of instructional theories, educational psychology, educational theory, tools and resources
• Desired - Experience in training that includes training needs assessment, program development, and evaluation
• Desired - Experience in evaluating the effectiveness of courses and learning products and delivery methods 

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM (Flexible)

Salary range: [$64,600] to [$82,700] 

*Due to COVID-19 and social distancing, this position will be temporarily working from home with plans to return to campus at the desired location listed once Navy Federal is back to normal operations. The specific logistics for returning to campus will be determined at a future date by individual leadership.
