Basic Purpose

We are seeking a talented and driven Predictive Modeler to join our Lending Analytics team. In this role, you will participate in the development of predictive modeling, data-mining, and advanced statistical analytics for assigned internal clients to enable better understanding of member needs, behaviors, and engagement. Additional responsibilities include:
•Provide input, clarification and insight to mid and executive-level management across the company with answers to business questions and information to assist with member-centric decision making.
•Assist with formulating strategies for identifying losses, mitigating risk and developing underwriting policies.
•Work under moderate supervision.


•Develop and test multiple hypotheses using results from analyses to generate and answer new questions leading to more in-depth understanding of business issue(s) being studied
•Perform full cycle model design and development which includes, but is not limited to, identifying objectives, sampling, testing/validation, calibration, monitoring performance, improving performance and executing models
•Conduct statistical/financial analysis on internal and external data to discover the tradeoffs of competing business objectives such as growth, profitability, market share and competitive position
•Lead ad hoc analysis of corporate-wide business problems of various scope and complexity
•Evaluate/develop/implement analytical techniques and best practices to gain a competitive advantage
•Proactively work with internal clients and other business areas to create project plans with clear objectives, detailed tasks, accountabilities, timelines, and estimated budgets/corporate impact
•Make presentations of status, completion, results and recommendations from studies to non-technical audience of various levels
•Manage multiple research projects under tight deadlines; ensure research projects are completed on time and meet internal client expectations
•Perform other duties as assigned or appropriate

•Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, , Data Science, Computer Science, Finance or a related quantitative field
•Working knowledge of classical statistical methods such as linear and logistic regression, ARIMA, survival analysis, etc.
•Solid background in mathematics and statistics to understand and identify algorithms to best address the problems facing the business and optimize the outcomes
•Experience in building a desktop application and graphical user interface framework with R or Python with an innate sense of curiosity and creativity
•Capable of building effective relationships through rapport, trust, diplomacy and tact
•Effectively present findings, recommendations and information clearly and concisely to technical and non-technical audience using advanced verbal and written communication skills
•Desired – Master’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Finance or a related quantitative field
•Desired – Experience as a predictive modeler demonstrating strong mass data mining and statistical expertise
•Desired – Advanced knowledge of Lending products, services, programs, policies and procedures
