Basic Purpose

To provide assistance and counsel employees on Navy Federal’s employee benefit programs, regulations, and policies.
Provide administrative support and assistance with programs and initiatives to ensure that administrative duties related to
benefits are completed appropriately and within timelines/deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Administer and communicate Navy Federal’s employee benefits plans, programs, regulations, and policies to all employees 
• Receive forms, verify accuracy, and complete data entry and plan administrative duties related to all benefits actions
• Calculate benefits using employee history, formulas, and modeling tools; submit information to vendor
• Ensure compliance with laws (e.g., ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, Affordable Care Act, USERRA and  PPA) and regulations governing employee benefits
• Compile and analyze metrics/data from HR system and plan administrator data/reports
• Assist, research, and resolve employee enrollment and claim issues 
• Maintain broad knowledge and current awareness of Navy Federal policies, procedures, programs, and operations; maintains procedural documentation and reference materials
• Conduct orientation of new employees providing guidance and enrollment instruction on Navy Federal benefit plans
• Participate in vendor conference calls and meetings, and collaborates with vendors when resolving eligibility and claim issues 
• Identify areas of improvement; determine solutions; implement enhancements/changes to improve operations, standards and results
• Make timely updates to programs/materials to incorporate changes 
• Support the Employee Benefits team in fulfilling functional/operational responsibilities
• Ensure data resulting from benefits processes, queries, and transactions are complete and accurate in HR system 
• Participate in the planning and execution of the annual open enrollment process and the Benefits Fair
• Support projects and initiatives within the business unit and/or across the organization
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Desired - Human Resources administrative experience
• Desired -Knowledge of  401(k) plans and administration
• Desired -Knowledgeable of Human Resource Management Systems (HRIS) and the Affordable Care Act (ACA)
• Desired -Basic understanding Navy Federal Human Resources policies, procedures, and programs
• Desired - Basic understanding of Navy Federal's functions, philosophy, operations and organizational objectives

Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00-4:30 PM
