Basic Purpose

To design, build or construct applications, systems, platforms, etc. that align with business initiatives and corporate strategies.

Develops, plans and executes Business Process Automation projects.

Responsibilities:

1.  Develop Solutions
• Lead the technical task of identifying, analyzing, designing, and maintaining BPM solutions that align with stated/documented business requirements and goals.
• Lead the effort to code/integrate solutions as per recommended design by SA and/or design patterns available
• Coordinate with other ISD and business unit staff to ensure a clear understanding of business requirements
• Coordinate with other ISD areas to support development initiative and successful delivery of solution.
• Prepare test data to conduct unit & integration testing, and facilitate debugging of code and system components to troubleshoot issues.
• Create or update/maintain clear and concise technical documentation as per the delivery methodology and IT standards during design, development & transition to support teams ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Lead solution design and development effort as well as ensure relevant reviews occur as per the delivery methodology.
• Ensure development of robust, scalable technical solutions
• Ensure compliance with architecture guidelines, security requirements, and design and development standards

2. Maintain Solutions
• Maintain and monitor the business application
• Create, organize and maintain technical documentation to support the business application to ensure customer requirements are met
• Troubleshoots to provide technical/operational support and problem resolution
• Investigate and resolve operational problems in support of the production support teams to ensure service continuity

3. Business Process Automation (BPA)
• Participates with the BPA Service Lead in selecting & prioritizing the BPA efforts for the assigned business unit
• Work with process owner/SME to analyze and document the “As Is” & “To Be” business processes
• Work with BPA Service Lead to estimate, plan & execute the BPA projects successfully.
• Perform the technical tasks related to process automation
• Interface & work in partnership with the IT Operations & support teams where necessary
• Provide post implementation & ongoing maintenance support for automated processes.

4. Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Independently applies extensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and relates fields
• Works on a major project or several projects of complex scope with complex features
• Reviews  project documents for completeness, conformity and quality assurance
• Develops new techniques and/or improved processes, materials or products
• Serves as advisor or technical specialist to senior management and staff Provides direction and guidance to assigned project staff to complete assignments
• Represents the organization in communications and conferences pertaining to broad aspects of application development
• Develops and maintains knowledge of the organization, processes and customers
• Uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services


Qualifications -- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Required (Individual Role):
• Superior expertise & significant experience in BPMN 2.0 & BPM technologies; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills.
• Able to project SME level expertise in the BPM solutions delivered and in development for the business area assigned to.
• Ability to assist BPM Solution Architect & BPM Service Manager in performing high level technical analysis, estimation to aid in planning.
• Ability to coordinate with internal IT partners to facilitate the progress of solution development as planned and oversee migration of the application from development environment to production while complying with all the IT policies and procedures.
• Ability to oversee technical work performed by all developers to complete assignments.
• Responsible for conducting design and code reviews as well as compliance to technology standards.
• Must possess adequate technical expertise and maturity to proactively identify technical risks and issues while also being able to propose a solution to remediate them.
• Applies best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services
• Stays current with technical trends and applies technical expertise to provide recommendations on strategic initiatives to achieve business objectives
• Demonstrated ability to represent the organization in conferences and other public forums pertaining to BPM.
• Demonstrated ability to solve problems/issues that routinely arise in areas of assigned responsibility without any guidance or expertise from higher-level staff.
• Excellent relationship and facilitation and presentation skills
• Demonstrated technical abilities in independently resolving complex problems
• Knowledge of industry trends, direction and standards that guide new technology offerings
• Experience, and demonstrated knowledge  in strategic planning
• Experience leading, guiding, and coaching professional staff

Desired (Role Family):
• College degree, coursework, or formal training in information technology, computer science or related field
• Knowledge of commonly used tools in NFCU such as HP-PPM, HP-ITSM, Jira, HPQC, SharePoint etc.
• Thorough understanding of Navy Federal's business plan
• Knowledge of Navy Federal business processes.
• Strong analytical ability and communication skills to present ideas with clarity
• Knowledge of industry best practices
• Formal training/certification in BPM, ITIL, SCRUM, Java/J2EE etc.
