Basic Purpose


To develop and administer Navy Federal’s employee events and programs to increase employee engagement in support of corporate strategies and position Navy Federal as an employer of choice.  Provide recommendations for improvement and administrative support to employee events and programs.
 
Responsibilities:
 
• Lead and coordinate the planning and execution of small to medium scale events and programs such as the Craft Fair, Bus Trips (day & overnight), Golf Tournament, Summer Camp, etc.
• Assist in the planning and execution of large-scale events such as the Annual Gala, Children’s Holiday Party, and Big Day Out
• Assist in the planning and coordinate logistics and activities related to multi-location events, programs, and campaigns such as PIP Week and Summerfest
• Coordinate event logistics with Facilities, Supply, Print Shop, and Procurement; collaborates with Communications Team to develop content and visuals to support the promotion of programs and events
• Direct the efforts of the Employee Recreation Association (ERA) volunteers
• Administer new and updated Cvent sites; troubleshoots and provides assistance to other business units using Cvent
• Develops, monitors, manages, and reconciles event and program expenses, annual section budget, Friendship Fund, and field ERA allocations
• Compiles data and produces summaries and reports for management
• Identify areas of improvement; determine solutions; implement enhancements/changes to improve operations, standards and results
• Serve as Navy Federal Intranet contributor to include monitoring, editing and creating content
• Work closely with Procurement regarding vendor contracts
• Coordinate with General Accounting and Procurement to resolve problems related to purchasing and vendor billing
• Draft business communication, correspondence, reports and/or other written materials
• Select and manage vendors and contracts including contract development, monitoring and issue resolution; oversee contract quality assurance, budget and cost mechanisms
• Provide guidance to internal/external customers and stakeholders
• Performs other duties as assigned

Required:
 
• Experience in event management
• Experience in managing projects from creation through execution and evaluation
• Effective organizational, planning and time management skills
• Effective research, analytical, and problem solving skills

Desired:

• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality or Event Management or related field, or the equivalent combination of experience,  education and training
• Familiarity with Cvent or similar event management application
• Familiarity with accounting-related functions including reconciling and balancing accounts, budget administration and cash management
• Effective database and presentation software skills
• Working knowledge of Navy Federal policies, instructions and regulations
 
Hours:
Monday- Friday, 8:00am- 4:30pm

Unusual Working Conditions: Events may require occasional travel off-site to plan and conduct events and activities. Events may require work to be performed outdoors, on evenings and weekends, and may incur overtime. Work may involve heavy lifting, carrying supplies and equipment, reaching, bending, stretching, and walking.
