Basic Purpose

At Navy Federal, Internal Audit’s (IA) goal is to provide independent, objective assurance and advisory services designed to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of the risk management process. IA accomplishes its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to auditing in an effort to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk mitigation across all facets of the business.IA includes a diverse range of professionals including certified auditors, subject matter experts who specialize in IT, finance, fraud, regulations, and data, as well as strategic personnel, all working collaboratively to ensure a seamless experience for Navy Federal and its members.

Navy Federal is growing rapidly and the environment in which we operate is in constant flux, posing new and unique risks to the enterprise.  As a result, Internal Audit needs to continuously evolve in order to provide assurance to our business partners through a risk-based approach to evaluate the effectiveness of governance, risk management, and the internal control environment. 

This role will be a member of the Internal Audit Strategy Team - a versatile group of problem solvers with a wide variety of skills and experience.  The team has a wealth of expertise in Risk Management, Project Management, and Change Management. We apply these skills daily as we represent Internal Audit on initiatives, plan and execute on strategy, and support executive leadership in the daily operation of Internal Audit.

Responsibilities

 

•    Supporting the Internal Audit Quality Assurance program in assessing quality 
     of audit files
•    Assist in process mapping, and procedural documentation
•    Build relationships across the department and be a quick learner in order 
     to understand operations
•    Candidates will make impactful recommendations to leadership and stakeholders


Qualifications 

•    Currently pursuing bachelor’s degree or higher in related field
•    Effective oral and written communication skills
•    Skilled in various technologies, including word processing and spreadsheet 
      software
•    Experience in the application of risk management and process improvement skills 
•    Effective research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
•    Experience in following, interpreting, and applying relevant data/instructions 
     to guidelines, procedures, practices, and regulations
•    Ability to interpret and synthesize large amounts of information


Hours:  Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM

Navy Federal is now hybrid! Our standard enterprise requirement for a hybrid schedule is to report on-site 4-16 days each month. The number of days reporting on-site will ultimately be determined by the employee's leadership and business unit needs. You will learn more throughout the hiring and on boarding process.

Salary Range:  $15.00 - $30.10 hourly

Navy Federal Credit Union assesses market data to establish salary ranges that enable us to remain competitive. Within this range, pay will be determined based on factors such as individual qualifications, location, and market position.
